Our rescheduled AGM is happening on May 14, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
This is a vital part of the PUL calendar: we need to approve (an admittedly pretty provisional) budget, vote for new Board members, and bring a few important issues to the attention of our membership. It is important that we have as many members attend as possible, and every team that is planning to return should have at least one representative.
This meeting will happen via Zoom, which allows large scale video conferencing as well as the option to phone in if your internet connection is not the strongest. The app is easy to download and relatively straightforward to use. As we get closer to the date, we’ll send out some more details and tips for usage.
Voting will happen during and after the meeting, most likely through Google Surveys.
The Board is meeting next week to finalize the agenda and format of the meeting, as well as firm up details of the voting process. Once we have that locked down, we’ll pass it on.
So for now, nothing to do except mark May 14 on your calendar!
Board Members Needed
In the past year, we’ve seen the implementation of our Gender Ratio policy, developed Concussion protocols, laid the groundwork for a Masters League (bite me, COVID), added more Juniors time, all while overseeing and supporting the great spirit and play of PUL’s 600 or so members.
And so…we need help! Board participation takes a variety of forms. Usually, Board members take on a committee portfolio (participating in one of our subcommittees) or League initiative. Board meetings happen once a month or so (slightly less over the summer). There are always beverages, snacks, and smiling faces.
If you are interested in running for the Board, please write up a short statement of interest – a letter of intent, describing your skills and your passion for our fine sport and community, and send it to our Operations Coordinator, Jocelyne Stone.
