Big Wieners and Chicken Dinners

Those were the trophies up for grab last night on the final games of Tuesday Summer League 2018.

It started off with two shorter, but intense games to finish off the semi finals that had been rained out the week before. Floppy Discs and Just Disc League out scored their opponents to meet a short while later in the B tier finals. Floppy Discs walked away with the Winner Winner Chicken Dinner.

On the other field, Limp Discit played Sloth Assault in the A tier final. For the first part of the game it was point for point, until Limp Discit came on strong for a long run of points. Sloth Assault didn’t give up, and tried to come back late in the game, but in the end Limp Discit ended up the winners of the Big Wiener.

Congratulations to all players.

Big shout out to Liz Maxwell, our Tuesday Summer League Coordinator. A lot of hard work goes on behind the scenes and she did it with grace and style.

And now I’ll leave you with a few more shots of the evening.

A good stretch

Playoffs approach!

Hard to believe, but our summer season is slowly winding down, with only a couple of weeks of regular play left. Playoffs begin the week of August 14. Just a reminder that league policy requires players to have four games under their belt to play for a team in playoffs (though note exceptions can be made in case of injury or pregnancy).

For Wednesday’s shorter season, we may have to make some exceptions, but be sure to consult with captains and League Coordinator Tara MacLeod in case of any uncertainties.

The sun is out…but we are in

Look at that sun baby!

No extreme heat advisories this week, woohoo! Games are on their regular schedule this week.

It’s still pretty hot out though, so players make sure you are hydrated, and get off the field if you need to. Captains might want to make pre-game agreements (e.g., regular water breaks; commit to using all timeouts; play to ‘quarters’ instead of half, etc.). Do what you feel you need to do to stay safe and have a great game.
